Plein Air Painting along the Historic National Road

Get outside and paint! Join artists from Touchstone Center for Crafts at Christian W. Klay Winery in Chalk Hill, PA during the Annual National Road Festival.

‘Plein Air’ is a French term pronounced “plen” or “plain” that means ‘Open Air.’ 
Plein Air Painting is the popular practice of painting outside.

There will be plenty of outdoor space to practice social distancing!

Be inspired through direct observation of this beautiful location along the Historic National Road. Bring your own supplies and paint, draw, sculpt, take photographs, etc. alongside beginner and seasoned artisans during this outdoor event. Enjoy demonstrations by Ron Donoughe and William Pfahl with tips for painting outdoors. Following the event, registered participants may bring their finished painting to Touchstone Center for Crafts (located 5 miles from the winery) for judging and a chance to win prizes. Campus and studio tours will be available to all visitors.

Artists of all skill levels are invited to participate. Cost is $25 for Adults and $10 for under 18. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
