Pedals and Pints: Sheepskin Trail Workday and Ride

Join us for a day of community service and fun at the “Pedals and Pints: Sheepskin Trail Workday and Ride” event!

We invite you to help install a public bike workstation and public bike tire pump at the Sheepskin Trailhead in Point Marion Park. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the improvement of our trail system and connect with fellow cycling enthusiasts. After the work is done, we’ll enjoy a social ride along the Sheepskin and Mon River Trails to The Brew Pub in downtown Morgantown for food and drinks on their riverside patio.

Event Details:

• Date: September 8th

• Time: Meet at 11:00 AM

• Location: Sheepskin Trailhead, Point Marion Park, Point Marion, PA

• Social Ride Destination: The Brew Pub, Morgantown, WV (Out & Back Ride ~ 20 miles total)

What to Expect:

• We will use a hammer drill to place concrete anchors for installing the public bike workstation and pump at the trailhead. This process involves fitting and securing both the workstation and the bike pump at the Sheepskin Trailhead in Point Marion Park. You can view the public workstation and bike pump in this video. Volunteers should wear eye protection, closed-toe shoes, and dress for the weather.

Social Ride:

After the installation, enjoy a 10-mile bike ride to Morgantown and stop at The Brew Pub for drinks and food in celebration. Participants can depart from the Brew Pub as they wish or join the ride back to the Point Marion Sheepskin Trailhead for a total of approximately 20 miles of riding.
Note: This social ride is recommended for riders aged 16 and up who have cycling experience. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian responsible for their supervision and safety during the ride/volunteer work. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own food and drinks. You must be 21 or older to purchase alcoholic beverages (please bring your ID).
